This movie takes place in 1917. Music begins on a FI (fade in) from black to an aerial shot of beautiful, snow-capped mountains – somewhere over the Rocky Mountains. As we move over the mountains the music should rise and crescendo to 0:24 as we see the mountains becoming low foothills and then an endless prairie. The music gets quieter as the camera zooms closer in on the land, and we can see signs of human habitation; dirt roads, barbed wire fences and livestock. Finally, at 0:32 we come to a well-built ranch with several buildings and horse corral. There are several people standing around a horse-drawn wagon.
We zoom in on these folks, and see that there is a young man saying goodbye to his family. At 0:51 a young woman – either his wife or girlfriend – comes forward and they embrace. We hear their conversation, he is going off to join the army and fight in World War I. At 01:16 he turns to leave, and at 01:23 he drives away as the people wave goodbye.
At 01:30 dissolve to the young man arriving at a military installation in Europe. There are hundreds of soldiers, cars, tanks, horses, etc. – the activity is almost overwhelming. The music could be positive here or dark (your choice), but not overly militaristic. At 01:51 MX OUT as the young man finds his way to the headquarters.
